Moody's Assigns A1 Rating to Los Alamitos Unified School District, CA's Certificates of Participation

NEW YORK, June 01, 2012 --Moody's Investors Service has assigned an A1 rating to Los Alamitos Unified School District, California's 2012 Certificates of Participation (Capital Projects) in the approximate amount of $28.5 million. Moody's has also affirmed the Aa2 rating on the district's outstanding general obligation bonds totaling approximately $68.5 million. The current offering is secured by rental payments made by the district under a facilities abatement lease. Although not legally pledged for such repayment, the district intends to use the special taxes collected in its Community Facilities District No. 90-1 (CFD) to pay the rental payments. Certificate proceeds will be used to finance school facilities modernization projects...
